The McCormick Group was established in 1987, based on the Fortune 500 background of our President.  Since our Indiana beginning, The McCormick Group now provides services to clients in Illinois and Michigan.

The McCormick Group is a full service public relations business, with targeted services providing Public Involvement, M/W/DBE Coordination, Workforce Development, Marketing Research, Advertising Consultation and Communication Strategy Development. We recognize that success begins with a clear definition of each project’s objective and statement of desired outcomes.  Within our team, we have 40 years of collective experience.  From working on projects ranging from $50,000 to $500 million, we recognize the importance of producing results and we are committed to do so.

Examples include:

  • delivering in 29 months, 1,500,000 non-paid media exposures, conducting 43 meetings with 1,673 attendees, managing a 48 hour customer response line, dedicated project office and responding to 2,269 public inquiries for the Accelerate 465 Reconstruction Project (the largest reconstruction project in INDOT history).
  • identifying cause and effect and direction patterns of behavior to assist the City of Indianapolis in conducting the EPA mandated watering study to prioritize its $1 billion capital improvement program.  The research standards set by The McCormick Group were used as a template for the entire State of Indiana.
  • developing the “Faces of Clarian” campaign for Clarian Health Partners (the largest healthcare provider in the State of Indiana), in one week 50,000 interest hits for job applications were received.
  • creating the “Chicago” Urban Campaign for the second successful Daniels Indiana gubernatorial campaign, which netted a 58% vs 40% win, most notably winning the traditional  democratic stronghold of Marion County by 48,000 votes, receiving 32% of votes from African American majority precincts.

Achievement Milestones


The McCormick Group earns National Award. Receiving the Minority Supplier of the Year award from the National Minority Supplier Development Council. This annual award is presented to only three of the nation’s 15,000-plus minority owned businesses. It recognizes each company’s exemplary achievements, in business performance, sales growth and dedication to community service. The McCormick Group was only the second business in the State of Indiana to be so honored.


The McCormick Group, CEO, Matti McCormick was selected as the first national board member for the National Better Business Bureau from the State of Indiana.


Developed Martin Luther King (MLK) Living the Legend branding and logo design for the City of Indianapolis Gateway project. Working with neighborhood leaders, The McCormick Group hosted neighborhood meetings, conducted qualitative interviews, worked with DPW and urban planners. The McCormick Group developed the distinctive logo and banners which honored African American heroes who contributed in the Martin Luther King tradition to the life of this iconic Westside neighborhood.

Martin Luther King, Jr. commented that the creative work of The McCormick Group was an excellent interpretation of his father’s legacy for this important project.


The McCormick Group Named as Disparity Process Consultant for the State of Indiana. The McCormick Group was selected based on its extensive experience working on State and federally funded projects throughout the State of Indiana, in addition to the firm’s extensive knowledge of the W/M/DBE Indiana Community. The Executive Director of the State of Indiana Department of Administration stated "The McCormick Group based on their experience and respected reputation in the Indiana community, will be a tremendous asset in helping to validate the Disparity process as the state moves forward, to assess minority and women business needs in the state of Indiana."


The McCormick Group received the City of Indianapolis, Entrepreneurial Award for Excellence. The McCormick Group was cited for being an "innovative company that has provided a unique approach, resulting in a strategic advantage in the market place".


Cambridge Who’s Who named McCormick Group’s CEO, Matti McCormick as Executive of the Year in Public Relations and Communication. This honor is awarded to only four individuals from over  10, 000 member categories of service. The McCormick Group CEO in receiving this national honor was recognized for implementing communication strategies through profession accomplishments and leadership activities.


The McCormick Group selected as Public Involvement, Workforce Development and DBE Coordination Lead for the 1-69 section 5 Expansion Project. The extension of1-69 incudes the Section 5 expansion from Bloomington to just South of Martinsville.
